# Data Collection Policy

### Commitment to User Privacy

Onside.io Inc. ("Onside," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of users of the Onside Store in the United States and to being transparent about how we collect, use, and share personal information. This policy explains our data practices with respect to United States users and describes the rights available to residents of states with applicable privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA/CPRA") and comparable laws in other U.S. states. Onside is operated by Onside.io Inc., headquartered at 1712 Pioneer Ave Ste 500, Cheyenne, Wyoming, US 82001-4406, an affiliate of Onside.io BV (Netherlands), which operates the Onside Store for users outside the United States.

### 1. Collection and Use of Personal Information

Onside collects personal information for two primary purposes: enabling access to the Onside Store, and — where you have opted in — sending marketing communications.

#### 1.1 User Authorization and Marketplace Access

When you create an Onside account, we collect information such as your name, date of birth, phone number, and email address. We use this information to verify your identity, administer your account, confirm you meet applicable age requirements, prevent fraud, and secure the Onside Store. We collect and use this information as necessary to provide the Services you request and to comply with applicable law.

#### 1.2 Marketing and Marketplace Communications

Where you have given the required permission, we may use your name, contact information, and usage information to send you product updates and promotional communications, and to tailor those communications to what we believe you will find relevant. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time, including via the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by contacting us at <legal@onside.io>.

### 2. Management and Protection of Personal Information

We maintain technical and organizational safeguards designed to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction of personal information. Access to personal information is limited to personnel who need it to perform their duties, and we require service providers who process personal information on our behalf to maintain comparable protections.

### 3. Your Privacy Rights

If you are a resident of California or another U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have some or all of the following rights, subject to certain exceptions under applicable law:

<br>

* Right to know / access — to request confirmation of whether we process your personal information and to obtain a copy of it.
* Right to correct — to request correction of inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
* Right to delete — to request deletion of personal information we have collected from you.
* Right to opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising — to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information, or its use for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising, as those terms are defined under applicable state law. Onside does not sell personal information for money; to the extent any sharing with advertising partners qualifies as a "sale" or "share" under applicable law, you can opt out as described below.
* Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — where applicable, to limit our use of sensitive personal information to purposes permitted by law.
* Right to non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
* Right to appeal — in states that provide it, the right to appeal a denial of a rights request.

<br>

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at <legal@onside.io>. We will verify your request and respond within the time period required by applicable law. You may also designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, subject to verification.

### 4. Children's Privacy

The Onside Store is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 except as permitted by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA"). Users between the age of 13 and the age of majority in their state of residence may use the Onside Store only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.

### 5. International Transfers of Personal Information

Because Onside.io Inc. shares infrastructure and support functions with its affiliate Onside.io BV, personal information collected from United States users may be transferred to, and processed in, the European Union and other jurisdictions. Onside implements appropriate contractual and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information wherever it is processed.

### 6. Contact and Inquiries

You may exercise your privacy rights or direct questions about this policy to Onside.io Inc. by email at <legal@onside.io> or by mail at 1712 Pioneer Ave Ste 500, Cheyenne, Wyoming, US 82001-4406. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

### 7. Changes to This Policy

Onside may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. We will notify users of material changes through the Onside Store or by email.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.onside.io/store/onside-rules-and-policies-united-states/data-collection-policy.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
